18 augustus
Join De Appel for their fourth 2 UNLIMITED event, and launch of Footnotes #5:
PART 1
Willem de Ridder, The Walk (remix version)
In 1981 De Appel premiered the Radio Art Resonance artwork “The Walk” by Fluxus artist Willem de Ridder.
Its participants departed from De Appel on a strange, wonderful journey through the Netherlands, accompanied by instructions from Willem de Ridder on cassette tape and via dutch radio.
On August 18, in a live public radio broadcast hosted by Ja ja ja nee nee nee and Willem de Ridder, several individuals will repeat “The Walk” and report from the field on their observations and experiences live via the radio. Additionally, various archival material of The Walk will be viewable as part of the exhibition 2 UNLIMITED.
Part 2
Following the Walk broadcast, Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee will continue with an interactive live programme bringing in various special guests.
All parts of this programme are free and open to the public. Food and drink will be available by donation

Entrance: Free of Charge
—————–
2 UNLIMITED is an exhibition and programme about artistic life in Amsterdam today. The project gathers artists, critical thinkers, and designers who make the city their home, despite increasing factors of inhospitality. This first edition highlights artistic forms that center community and communication, that operate from a proactive rather than reactive position, and that foment grounded work and ideas.
Extending over the summer of 2018, and featuring multiple multidisciplinary events, this edition presents a wide range of artistic practices, including performance, sculpture, design, sound, artistic research, writing, and more. The artists in this project comprise a wide range of backgrounds, concerns, and aesthetic sensibilities, but are joined here by a sense of productive criticality.
